SBF GB&I's Forest Factory Goes Green with 100% Renewable Purchased Electricity

To help reach this aim, SBF GB&I has made a number of other sustainability-focused investments that include switching to LED light fittings throughout the factory, introducing robotic forklifts to the new warehouse (opening at the end of this year), and replacing old motors and pumps with new equipment that is more efficient. The most significant investment of all involved the installation of a £13M bottling line which uses 40% less water and energy to bottle each drink and represents a 4.4% reduction of energy and water consumption for the Coleford site as a whole.

Other interventions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across SBF GB&I’s total value chain include removing fossil-fuel-based plastics in favour of recycled plastic and transitioning logistics and commercial vehicles to lower carbon alternatives. Marking the milestones on the path to decarbonisation is how we demonstrate that we are continually taking actions to achieve our goals. The news forms part of an announcement made by Suntory Holdings which is aiming for 100% renewable electricity in its 63 directly owned manufacturing sites and R&D facilities in Japan, the Americas and Europe by 2022.
