Amsterdam, 5 June 2026 – Suntory Beverage & Food Europe (SBFE) has today published its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining progress against its Growing for Good framework and how the company is strengthening long‑term resilience while growing responsibly across Europe.
Against a challenging global context for sustainability and ESG, the report highlights continued progress across climate action, circular packaging and social impact, alongside new tools and governance to support delivery over the coming decade.
In 2025, SBFE achieved a 33% reduction in added sugar across its drinks portfolio compared to a 2015 baseline, reflecting long‑term reformulation across key brands including Ribena, Lucozade, Orangina and Schweppes*. This progress has been driven, among other, by step‑by‑step recipe changes, including in France, where sugar in Oasis* Tropical has been reduced by 44% compared to its original 2006 recipe. Building on this, SBFE has set two new ambitions for 2030: to reduce total sugar across its portfolio by 40% compared to 2015, and for two thirds of its total volume to be below 5g/100mL
SBFE also reduced its overall carbon footprint by 20% compared to 2019, reflecting lower emissions across manufacturing, energy use, transport and the supply chain. This included a 22% cut in emissions from its own operations and a 20% reduction across the wider value chain. During the year, the company carried out its first nature assessment to identify where its operations and supply chain have the greatest impacts on, and dependencies on, nature, and in 2025 partnered with Pilario to assess the environmental footprint of products and packaging early in the innovation process, helping teams make lower‑impact design choices from the earliest stages of design.
Progress on circular packaging continued, with recycled plastic content across SBFE’s bottles reaching 53%, exceeding its 50% target for 2025. This was supported by brand‑level transitions in several markets, including Schweppes bottles moving to 100% recycled plastic.
Pierre Decroix, Chief Executive Officer, Suntory Beverage & Food Europe, said:
In 2025, sustainability did not get easier - but it became even more essential. This report reflects the determination of our teams to keep moving forward: cutting emissions, advancing circular packaging and supporting our communities, even in a turbulent external environment. Progress is rarely linear, but our Growing for Good mindset continues to guide how we build long‑term value for society and for our business.
Alongside environmental progress, the report highlights SBFE’s continued focus on people and communities. In 2025, the company donated more than €1.17 million to good causes, and employees volunteered over 4,500 hours across Europe. Investment also continued in safety through the Zero Harm programme and in responsible business practices across the value chain.
Looking ahead, SBFE will focus on delivering its Climate Transition Plan, accelerating action across packaging and agriculture, and strengthening resilience as sustainability expectations and regulatory requirements continue to evolve.
