Giving Tuesday: A day to celebrate giving back to society

Giving Tuesday: A day to celebrate giving back to society

Today is Giving Tuesday, a global movement inspiring millions around the world to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.

At Suntory Beverage and Food GB&I, giving back is more than just an initiative, it’s part of who we are. Through our Together for Good platform, - our dedicated volunteering programme that gives employees the opportunity to support causes they care about - we empower our employees to contribute to their communities and make a positive impact, both individually and as a team.

From maintaining gardens to transforming public community spaces, our teams have come together throughout the year to support local causes and make a difference, demonstrating our commitment to giving back to society. Here are some of our highlights:

Earlier this year, colleagues participated in a 457-kilometre charity cycling challenge through Vietnam, navigating the historic Ho Chi Minh trail in intense heat and humidity. Together with 43 business leaders in the wholesale and convenience sector, the team raised an impressive £280,000 for the Mines Advisory Group (MAG). This funding supports the clearance of unexploded ordnance, making communities safer and opening opportunities for local development.
Over 130 employees from our sales team joined forces with East End Homes to revitalise a local housing estate. Their efforts included redecorating a nursery, restoring a playground and planting new green spaces, all aimed at improving the quality of life for residents while strengthening bonds within the team.
Our marketing, R&D and finance teams partnered with Sunshine of Hounslow, helping to revitalise a community garden that serves wheelchair users, the elderly, and those with disabilities. By clearing planting areas and laying weed-proof sheets, they created a more accessible and welcoming space for local residents.
The Coleford projects team braved the rain to volunteer with Blakeney Hill Growers, a community smallholding in the Forest of Dean. From repairing fences to clearing paddocks, their work directly supported a local initiative that promotes sustainable agriculture and community well-being.
Our external affairs team visited Bhaktivedanta Manor to transform a wellbeing garden for NHS staff. They helped out with garden maintenance by clearing away and collecting old leaves for mulch to create space for new plants and flowers, enhancing the nature of the Manor's grounds.
At SBF GB&I, every employee is granted a paid day off to participate in volunteering activities, reinforcing our company value and dedication to ‘Giving Back to Society’. These moments of generosity are not just about helping others, they also strengthen connections within our teams and provide a shared sense of purpose.

As we mark Giving Tuesday, we reflect on the meaningful work we’ve done this year and look forward to continuing our efforts to support communities and create lasting positive change. By giving back, we bring our values to life and embody the essence of ‘Growing for Good’.
